A brave group of tourists thwarted an attempted arson attack at the birth home of civil rights icon, Martin Luther King Jr., in Atlanta. The incident unfolded as a 26-year-old woman was captured on video pouring gasoline on the front of the historic house.

The shocking incident was caught on camera by one of the tourists visiting the landmark. In the video footage, the woman can be seen dousing the front of the house with a large plastic gasoline container. The concerned tourist confronts her, asking what she is doing, but she dismissively waves him off and continues her act of vandalism.
Quick Action by Good Samaritans
Thankfully, two other individuals visiting the birth home immediately intervened. They swiftly apprehended the suspect and held her down until the Atlanta Police Department arrived on the scene and took her into custody. Their courageous actions prevented the historic property from being consumed by flames.
Potential Federal Charges
The suspect, whose identity has not been released, has been charged with criminal attempt arson and criminal attempt interference with government property. Additionally, due to the fact that the house is operated by the National Park Service, there is a possibility of federal charges being brought against her.
