Robert Pattinson is one of those charming English men that many can’t help but love. He was born in London on May 13, 1986. His parents, Richard and Clare, supported him and his two siblings by working in vintage car deals and model agency booking, respectively.

Pattinson spent his early life and made childhood memories in Barnes, London. Even at a young age, he started to shine and show his talents. Despite his shy demeanor, performing struck out to be his dream which, as we know, turned out to be a reality.

It was while he was wrapping up work on Ring of Nibelungs and Vanity Fair did Pattinson meet director Mike Newell. This meeting would later open up an opportunity for Pattinson to be cast as a major character in a Harry Potter movie.

 

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was Robert Pattinson’s first major movie. He was the Cedric Diggory actor who came to be Harry Potter’s co-Triwizard Champion and friend. Pattinson earned the admiration of many young girls and a lot of public acclaim through this role. He was declared to be ‘the next Jude Law’ by Teen People. While acting for the Twilight series established him as a household name in Hollywood, Robert Pattinson went on to venture beyond his heartthrob role. He starred in other prominent movies such as Remember Me (2010), Water For Elephants (2011), and Cosmopolis (2012). Then, he further honed his acting talents as he took on the dystopian Western drama film The Rover (2014), opposite Guy Pearce. For this film, Pattinson was nominated as Best Supporting Actor by AACTA Awards.

 

Maps to the Stars (2014)

In 2014, the actor joined the cast of satirical drama film Maps to the Stars. He starred alongside well-known celebrities such as Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, and John Cusack. Both the public and movie critics gave great praise for the film. Thanks to his performance in the film, Robert Pattinson was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in the Canadian Screen Awards.

 

The Lost City of Z (2017)

In 2017, the English actor delved into another supporting role as Corporal Henry Costin in The Lost City of Z. This adventure and drama film later acquired the number seven spot on the Box Office Chart when it first released.

In an interview with Collider, Robert Pattinson shared that he always wanted to work with The Lost City of Z director-writer James Gray.
